Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy

We want our customers to buy with confidence. Our returns, refunds and warranty policy applies subject to the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, and any other applicable South African consumer legislation

1. Change-of-Mind Returns

For purchases made directly from our store, we offer a voluntary return period of 7 calendar days from the date of purchase, subject to the following conditions:

  • The product must be unused and in a resalable condition.
  • The original packaging, accessories, manuals and supplied components must be returned with the product.
  • Valid proof of purchase is required, such as a till slip, invoice, online order confirmation or other verifiable transaction record.
  • Products that have been damaged, altered, abused, incorrectly used or returned incomplete may not qualify for a change-of-mind refund.

This voluntary return policy does not limit any rights a consumer may have under South African law.

2. Online Purchases

For qualifying online purchases, consumers may have additional cooling-off rights under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Where the statutory cooling-off right applies, a customer may cancel a qualifying online purchase within the applicable legal cooling-off period after receiving the goods.

The customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning goods where permitted by law.

3. Refund Processing

Once a return has been inspected, approved and the refund has been processed by us, funds may take approximately 7–10 business days to reflect in the customer's account, depending on the payment provider and banking institution.

For purchases paid by manual EFT or bank deposit, we may require verified proof of the customer's banking details before processing the refund. Refunds will only be made to an account that can reasonably be verified as belonging to the customer or authorised recipient.

Where legislation prescribes a specific refund period, the statutory period will apply.

4. Defective or Faulty Products

If a product is alleged to be defective, we reserve the right to inspect and assess the product to determine the nature and cause of the fault.

A warranty claim may be declined where the fault results from circumstances such as:

  • Misuse or abuse
  • Accidental or impact damage
  • Water or liquid damage
  • Incorrect voltage or electrical supply
  • Overloading or use outside the manufacturer's specified application
  • Failure to follow operating or maintenance instructions
  • Unauthorised repairs, alterations or tampering
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by incorrect accessories or consumables
  • Lack of reasonable maintenance

Nothing in this policy removes or restricts a consumer's statutory rights in respect of defective or unsafe goods.

5. Warranty on Brand-New Products

Unless specifically stated otherwise at the time of sale, our brand-new products carry a 12-month commercial warranty against manufacturing defects, subject to the applicable warranty conditions.

The commercial warranty is additional to, and does not replace or reduce, any statutory rights available to consumers under South African law.

Warranty claims require valid proof of purchase.

6. Batteries & Chargers

Batteries and chargers carry a 6-month commercial warranty against manufacturing defects, unless a longer warranty is specifically stated for the product.

The warranty does not cover failure or deterioration caused by:

  • Normal battery capacity degradation
  • Battery being left discharged for an extended period
  • Deep discharge caused by improper use or storage
  • Incorrect charging equipment
  • Overcharging where caused by non-approved equipment
  • Excessive heat
  • Water or moisture damage
  • Impact or physical damage
  • Misuse, neglect or abuse
  • Unauthorised modification or repair

A battery being discharged or flat does not by itself constitute a manufacturing defect.

Where battery cell failure is suspected, the battery may be tested to determine whether the failure resulted from a manufacturing defect or from use, damage, storage or maintenance conditions.

Valid proof of purchase is required for battery and charger warranty claims.

7. Clearance, Demo, Open-Box & Discounted Products

A product that is brand new and merely discounted in price does not automatically receive a shorter warranty solely because it is on promotion or clearance.

Certain demo, display, used, open-box, shop-soiled or specifically marked clearance products may be sold with a stated limited commercial warranty, which may be between 1 and 3 months, depending on the product and its disclosed condition.

Any known defect, damage, missing component or special condition applicable to such a product should be disclosed to the customer before purchase.

The limited commercial warranty applicable to these products does not remove statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

8. Products Sold With a Disclosed Condition

Where a product is sold with a specific known defect, damage, cosmetic issue, missing component or other condition, that condition must be clearly disclosed to the customer before the sale.

Acceptance of a specifically disclosed condition may affect a warranty claim relating to that particular condition, to the extent permitted by law.

It does not automatically exclude claims relating to unrelated defects.

9. Warranty Inspection

Products submitted under warranty may be inspected or tested by our technical team or the relevant supplier/manufacturer.

Customers should, where reasonably possible, return the complete product together with:

  • Proof of purchase
  • Battery and charger, where relevant to the fault
  • Supplied components needed to reproduce the fault
  • Serial number or identification labels intact

The purpose of the assessment is to determine the cause of failure and whether the fault falls within the applicable warranty.

10. Consumables & Normal Wear

Commercial warranty coverage generally does not apply to normal wear or consumable components that are expected to deteriorate through ordinary use, unless the failure results from a manufacturing defect.

Examples may include:

  • Carbon brushes
  • Cutting discs
  • Grinding discs
  • Drill bits
  • Saw blades
  • Sanding accessories
  • Filters
  • Other consumable or wear components

11. Repairs & Replacement Parts

Repair work, replacement parts and labour are covered in accordance with applicable South African consumer legislation and any additional written repair warranty supplied by us.

Misuse, abuse or damage occurring after the repair is not covered as a defect in the original repair.

12. Important Notice

This policy is intended to explain our normal returns, refunds and warranty procedures.

Nothing in this policy is intended to waive, restrict or exclude any consumer right that may not legally be waived or excluded under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or other applicable South African legislation.
